About the Role
Based in BYD's Sydney office in Macquarie Park, this role will support our Training Team reporting to Training Manager. On offer is a Product Trainer position and your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:
Training Delivery
- Facilitate training sessions (both face-to-face and virtual) for sales teams, focusing on product knowledge and technical information of vehicles.
- Adapt training methods to engage diverse learning styles and needs effectively.
Conduct role-playing activities, workshops, and hands-on practice to reinforce learning. - Break down complex technical details into practical knowledge that sales teams can confidently communicate to customers.
- Stay updated on BYD’s latest vehicle advancements, software updates, and technical features to ensure training remains current.
Training Content Implementation
- Support the roll-out of existing training materials developed by the Learning Designers and other team members.
- Help prepare training aids such as slides, handouts, and videos for sessions.
- Ensure consistency in training delivery to maintain high-quality learning experiences.
- Assist in reviewing and updating training materials to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with the latest product updates.
Evaluation and Feedback
- Administer and assess post-training quizzes and surveys to gauge participant understanding and training effectiveness.
- Provide constructive feedback to trainees to help them improve performance.
- Gather feedback from participants and report insights to improve training programs.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Work with senior trainers and stakeholders to understand training needs and priorities.
- Maintain attendance records and training logs for reporting purposes.
- Contribute to team discussions on improving training delivery and processes.
Technical Skills
- Ability to understand and explain key automotive concepts, including EV powertrains, battery technology, and intelligent driving systems.
- Basic proficiency with presentation tools like PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Familiarity with virtual platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Willingness to learn and use Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to engage participants.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple training sessions and tasks.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new methods and tools.
Key requirements:
- Qualifications in Australia with bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Education, Business, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive, EV or technology sector is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in facilitating training sessions, public speaking, or customer-facing roles is an advantage.
